Prof Jennie Brand-Miller, Member of the Order of Australia

Jennie Brand-Miller, Professor of Human Nutrition at Sydney University and bilateral cochlear implant recipient, has been made a Member of the Order of Australia, announced in the Queen's Birthday Honours on 13 June 2011.

The honour recognises her service to education in the field of human nutrition as a researcher and academic, and as a supporter of people with a hearing impairment.

"I am extremely lucky that Graeme Clark was an Australian and that he started developing and commercialising it [the cochlear implant] at just the right time for me. They are just little miracles" Jennie said.
